My Favorite Dress From the Oscars

But, how did she sit in it?!?

Bespoke Style is a personal style newsletter. I (mostly) wear custom and vintage pieces. My mom’s a tailor and thanks to her, I grew up with the art of fashion and style in my DNA. I’m bringing that to you with this newsletter.

Enjoy! - Johanna.

Every last Monday in February or first in March, I indulge in one of my favorite personal traditions: my Oscars’ breakfast in bed.

I wake up giddy to look at all the clothes. Then, I make myself a coffee and a smoothie, and scroll through the endless lists of outfits while still tucked into bed.

It’s pure bliss!

This year, I especially enjoyed the fashion. Some years, Oscars fashion has been quite meh with people playing it safely - too safely in my opinion. This year was a breath of fresh air!

Fun With Colors

There was a lot of color, like Timothée Chalamet’s lime green suit. So fun!

The Coolest Dress of the Night

My favorite, standout dress from the night was Halle Berry’s shattered mirror gown, though.

Look at it: The design! The fit! The artistry! The craftsmanship! She looks amazing in it!

I marvel at the person who had the idea for this.

Even more so, I marvel at the craftspeople who perfectly put thousands upon thousands of sequins and appliqués together to create this intricate pattern and shattered mirror illusion.

Absolutely amazing!

Now, the only question we had was: How does she sit in this without shattering the mirrored pieces?

Which was your favorite dress from the Oscars? Do you follow Oscars’ fashion, at all?

Have a lovely day,

Johanna
